Call for nominations!

The first edition of the ‘Catalysts for Change: Champions paving the way for sustainable transport in Africa’ is here!

Are you or do you know someone who is a disruptor of the status quo, innovator, thought leader, or advocate in Africa’s transition to sustainable transport?

The progress towards redefining Africa’s transport systems to be sustainable and transformative has been fast accelerating. As a result, a new wave of agents of change has been emerging as urban and transport planners, researchers, entrepreneurs, policy makers and advocates. However, despite their critical contributions, many of these voices often remain under-recognized, unsupported, and undocumented at the regional and global level.

GIZ and Agora Verkehrswende, through the Rethinking Transport project are therefore launching this initiative which aims to uncover, recognize, connect, and celebrate individuals leading the way to the future of sustainable transport on the continent.

We are calling for the nomination of individuals between 18-45 years delivering impact and redefining mobility systems on the ground. By being part of the Catalysts for Change Initiative, they will have the opportunity to share their stories, network, build visibility for their work in the continent and beyond, and be featured in the inaugural publication of the initiative.

Nominate someone whose story deserves to be seen, supported, and amplified by July 06, 2025, 23.59 CET.
