The project supports the transition to sustainable electric mobility in Latin America by promoting the widespread adoption of electric buses, taxis, and light commercial vehicles, along with the necessary charging infrastructure. Implemented by GIZ, as part of the Mobilize Net-zero programme, in Panama, Paraguay, and Uruguay, the technical assistance component strengthens policy frameworks, builds stakeholder capacity, and pilots innovative business models. A dedicated Gender Action Plan ensures women’s active participation in decision-making, training, and the design of inclusive mobility solutions. It is funded by the International Climate Initiative (IKI) of the German Federal Government, the Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean (CAF), the Green Climate Fund (GCF) and the Agence française de développement (AFD).
